How to travel

Choose Your Departure Point

Traveling from Bali is straightforward — you have two departure points.

Padang Bai is located on the north-east coast of Bali and is the most popular harbour for fast boats. It's a bit further to reach by road, but once you're on the water, the crossing across the sea is much faster — around 1.5 hours to reach Lombok and the Gili Islands. This is the preferred harbour for most travellers.

Sanur/Serangan can be an option for visitors staying in South Bali, making it easier to get to in the morning. The trade-off is a longer sea crossing — around 3 hours to Lombok. Sanur is the harbour you should choose when going to Nusa Penida and Lembongan.

If you've booked a shuttle transfer with us, your driver will pick you up at the assembly point near your accommodation early in the morning, typically around 06:00, and bring you directly to the harbour in time for departure.

During rainy season (Dec–Mar) seas can be rough — take seasickness medication if needed and opt for a morning departure.

Best Time to Travel

Dry season (April–October) offers the calmest seas and clearest skies. Morning departures are recommended. Arrive at the port at least 30–45 minutes before departure. Book in advance during peak season (July–August and Christmas/New years).
